We are a congregation rooted in 1883 and are still growing. A community where young and old, traditional and contemporary, find a common home. What holds us together isn't uniformity but a shared conviction: that following Christ means going deeper with God, growing more honest with one another, and showing up for the world around us.
We don't have everything figured out. But we're asking the right questions together, and we'd love for you to join that conversation.

At Main Street, ministry isn't a program you consume or a department you belong to. It's the shape of a life being formed by God alongside others. Whether you're just finding your footing or have been at this for decades, there's a place here where you can go deeper, be known, and contribute something only you can offer.
From our youngest children to our oldest members — from the neighborhood to the world — this is where it takes shape.
Don't Use
KIDS
The faith of a child isn't smaller than an adult's. It's often more honest, more open, and more alive to wonder.
At Main Street, we take that seriously. Under the leadership of Susan Bounds and a dedicated team of volunteers, our children's ministry creates space where kids encounter the story of God in ways that are age-appropriate, joyful, and genuinely formative, not just entertaining.
Because what happens in these early years matters more than we can measure.
YOUTH
Adolescence is one of the most disorienting seasons of life...and one of the most spiritually significant.
At Main Street, our youth ministry is built around the conviction that teenagers deserve honest conversation, genuine community, and a faith that can hold up under real questions. Under the leadership of Greg Hawkins and a committed team, our students gather throughout the week in spaces designed for exactly that: food, friendship, worship, and the kind of talk that actually goes somewhere.
Sunday nights are the heartbeat of it, but this community shows up in more ways than one.
ADULTS
Adulthood is complicated. Faith in the middle of it even more so.
Main Street's adult ministry exists for people who want more than a program, it's a genuine community where you can ask hard questions, find support across generations, and grow at your own pace without pressure or pretense.
No strings. No performance required. Just honest people trying to figure out the same things you are.
SENIOR ADULTS
There's a particular kind of wisdom that only comes with time and at Main Street, we don't just respect it. We gather around it.
Our senior adult community is one of the most active and welcoming corners of this church: monthly luncheons with guest speakers, day trips throughout the year, and an Adult Vacation Bible School every August that's become something people genuinely look forward to.

Don't Use
ALDERSGATE
Some of the most important work Main Street does happens six blocks away.
Since 1972, Aldersgate Mission has served children and families in the Briarfield community, providing after-school and summer programming that nurtures academic growth, character development, and genuine belonging. Year-round, Aldersgate walks alongside 66 to 88 children regularly, offering everything from literacy instruction and arts programming to leadership development and college readiness.
This isn't charity at a distance. It's neighbors showing up for neighbors, week after week, decade after decade.

PRESCHOOL
The earliest years are the most formative ones, and we don't take that lightly.
Main Street's preschool provides a warm, intentional environment for children 8 weeks through Pre-K, where small class sizes mean every child is genuinely known and cared for. Our program runs Monday through Thursday, 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and is designed to nurture the whole child — socially, creatively, and academically — at every stage from infant through kindergarten readiness.

SMALL GROUPS
The best things at Main Street happen around a table.
Small groups are where the real work of faith takes shape: asking honest questions, carrying one another's weight, and figuring out together what it means to follow Jesus in ordinary life. We offer both ongoing groups and seasonal options, led by laypeople and staff, alongside our Sunday School classes.
Whatever you're carrying or curious about, there's likely a place for you here.
MISSIONS
Faith that stays inside a building isn't the kind we're after.
At Main Street, missions isn't a department, it's a posture. It shows up in our small groups serving their neighborhoods, in the monthly offerings we bring (both monetary and tangible — because some needs require more than a check), in the Christmas Day Dinner we host for those who would otherwise spend the day alone, and in the sustained partnerships we've built with organizations doing the hard, unglamorous work of loving this community.
Locally, we walk alongside Hub City Wesley, Edwards Street Fellowship, Christian Services, and Methodist Senior Services. We support Methodist Children's Home and the United Methodist Committee on Relief. And as part of the United Methodist Church, our reach extends to ministries around the world we could never fund or sustain alone.
