Planned Giving

Planned Giving

As members of Main Street United Methodist Church, we give of our prayers, our presence, our service and our financial blessings to support and further the ministry of our Church. Typically, our financial gifts provide for the immediate costs of maintaining the Church building, paying salaries and providing for various Church ministries during each year.  However, Main Street has created another vehicle to sustain the well-being of the Church for generations to come – with an opportunitiy known as Planned Giving.  In 2010, Main Street established three endowments for the purpose of providing lasting income for the Church and its ministries. We established endowments for the Church Building, Church Missions and General, or “Undesignated Gifts.”

Anyone can participate in this form of giving. Gifts can be made during the lifetime of the donor or as a gift from someone’s estate at death. These gifts will be added along with the gifts of others to provide permanent and substantial endowments that conserve the gift and distribute the income to certain ministries of the Church. Gifts can be made through various resources such as cash, securities, life insurance, trusts, real estate or retirement accounts.   If you’re considering Planned Giving we recommend that you discuss your charitable wishes with your family, your attorney, your accountant or your financial advisor. Your plan can be a gift that lasts forever.
