Linda-Dixon-280Associate Pastor and Executive Director of Aldersgate Mission

Pastor Linda Faye Dixon was born and raised in West Point, Mississippi.  Working with the Aldersgate Board, she has given oversight to the ministry of Main Street UMC’s after school and summer program with the children of the Briarfield Community for the past five years.  The ministry she oversees includes a variety of enrichment activities, Compass Learning (a computer based reading program), partnerships with local universities providing student volunteers and welcoming and orienting all volunteers who serve at Aldersgate.  Outside the walls of Aldersgate, she also functions as a pastoral caregiver for the families of the Briarfield Community.  Linda attended Emory University where she received her Master of Divinity in 2009.  She has been joined in matrimony to Curtis Dixon for 33 years and together they share three children:  Kitsy Marie Dixon, Curby Lynn Dixon, and Joshua Isaiah Dixon.  She enjoys playing the piano, reading and singing for relaxation.  Linda believes her purpose in working with the children and families of Briarfield is to help them form a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as they live out their Christian faith and to serve them.

“I love Main Street because God is working there through so many ministries through Aldersgate they are reaching the lives of the people in the underserved communities through Stop Hunger Now, and Extra Table, they are helping to end hunger, and mostly the members are so loving abut serving and meeting the needs of others.”
