14th Annual Christmas Day Dinner
This is for any and all in the church and in the community who would like to
come together to share a meal at Christmas! There are many serving opportunities
that include: greeting guests, assisting in the kitchen, serving food,
busing tables, and cleaning up. If you plan to serve, please sign up before
or after the service outside the Sanctuary and Fellowship worship areas, or
call the church office. This will enable us to accommodate as many people as
We are asking for donations of the following NEW items to give to our
guests: Socks, T-shirts, sweat shirts, sweat pants, jeans, toothbrushes,
toothpaste, disposable razors, shaving cream, deodorant, shampoo, soap,
bath and hand towels.
We aren’t asking for just a gift of service, but also a gift of your presence with
our neighbors, so please make plans to join us! Thank You for making this day

Alternative Christmas Giving
As you think about the gifts that you will give to your family this Christmas,
consider giving a gift to one of the ministries that we support at Main Street
in honor of your loved ones. Our first Alternative Christmas Market starts
Sunday! This year’s gift opportunities will fund facilities projects in Llano
Grande, Ecuador, and at Aldersgate. We will send personalized Christmas
cards to all alternative gift recipients with forms received by December 13.
See the display in the Narthex for more information and giving forms.

Community Service Project!!
It is so important to teach our children how to give. Our Preschool has partnered with
Edwards Street Food Pantry for a Pet Food Drive! We will be collecting dog and cat food to give
to families that need help feeding their pets. There is a wagon in the Preschool Hall, please let your child put their pet food donation in the wagon. This is a wonderful way to teach children about helping others!
Westminster Presbyterian Church will host the Annual Community
Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 22, at 6:00 p.m.
Please plan to join several Hattiesburg area congregations as we gather
to give thanks and present an offering to benefit the Breadbasket Ministry.
Rev. Todd Watson will be the guest preacher

THANKSGIVING TURKEYS FOR ALDERSGATE FAMILIES. This year Main Street UMC will provide a turkey for those who are elderly or disabled that live in the Briarfield Community. If you would like to give, please make your check payable to Main Street UMC and mark it “HUNGER.”

DRESSING FOR ALDERSGATE FAMILIES. We – that includes YOU – are preparing pans of dressing to be delivered with the turkeys for Thanksgiving! Call Alice Staten at 601-268-3533 to be included in the fun!

DELIVERY We will need people to help deliver all the turkeys and dressing
to Aldersgate on Friday, November 20th. If you are available for about an
hour and would like to help, please call the church office.
